“Nobody should go to work thinking ‘Oh, this is the place that I might die at today.’ That’s what a hospital is for. An office is a place where dreams come true.”

Stanley returns from his hospital stay, under instructions from his doctor to reduce stress. The office is subjected to a CPR training seminar, which ends in Dwight attempting to harvest organs from the practice dummy.

Jim and Pam subject themselves to watching a pirated Jack Black/Cloris Leachman film with Andy. Andy becomes convinced that they are movie geniuses overhearing their comments which are actually directed at a tense situation between Pam’s parents.

As a disciplinary measure for stressing Stanley even further during CPR training, corporate forces Dwight to formally apologize to the office.

“You almost killed Stanley.”
“Yeah that’s right. I filled him with butter and sugar for fifty years and forced him not to exercise.”

Pam awkwardly asks Jim to talk to her dad for her. Something Jim says causes Pam’s father to move away from her mother.

Michael attempts to make the office more peaceful for Stanley’s sake. During a relaxation exercise, Stanley’s blood pressure monitor reveals Michael to be the source of not just his, but everyone’s stress.

Thinking that revealing their true feelings about their boss is the key to relieving everyone’s stress, Michael arranges for himself to be roasted.

In the warehouse, Michael is roasted by Oscar in Spanish, Meredith reveals that he is the reason she drinks, Toby is barred from speaking, and Dwight jumps to his defense. When he calls Dwight an idiot for doing so, he is insulted by Dwight for being small and owning no land.

At the end of the roast, Michael attempts to make some comments about the rest of the office, but leaves the room on the brink of tears. He is absent from work the next day.

Pam’s dad tells her that he decided to separate from her mother after Jim expressed his own love for Pam, making him feel that his marriage is devoid of that feeling.

Michael makes a confident return later on with a list of roastings for the entire office that manages to make everyone laugh, even Stanley.
