The team announced the deal Sunday, but neither the team nor Wallace would release the terms of the deal.
Wallace is most well known to most as the GM who gave the Lakers Pau Gasol for Marc Gasol and some other small pieces. Pau has been a key player on the Lakers who have won two Championships since the trade.
Wallace has been in the league for 23 years in various positions, including GM of the Boston Celtics before taking the position with the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies are 86-160 with Wallace as GM, but they have built a solid core of young players that have shown signs of bringing the Grizzlies out of the cellar and into the playoffs.
