~ As reported a few days ago, rumors of a fourth movie in the Saw franchise have been floating around. Supposedly there were at least four writers working on scripts so some choices could be made quickly to get the movie made by Halloween of next year. With the first three movies all coming out in late October, it’s become a bit of a tradition. And with the end of the month approaching, that’d be less than a year to get the fourth one written, cast, and filmed.

Well, one of the writers has been found out. Joanna Daniel is penning one of the possible scripts for Lionsgate’s Saw 4. Daniel is the writer and director of Red, a short film retelling the story of “Little Red Riding Hood.” In her version Red is a bit more self-reliant.

Saw 4 is tentative in every sense of the word, perhaps, but it doesn’t appear that Jigsaw has seen his final victim. The movie will be missing it’s key components though of writers Leigh Whannell and James Wan, as well as director Darren Lynn Bousman.

~ Saw III will be released tomorrow and there is still plenty to talk about with the final film from it’s original writers and director. Click here for a video interview with writer Leigh Whannell.
