When Gaius Charles from Friday Night Lights returns to television, it will be in a much different role.
The Dillon Panther will now play Joe on Pan Am, a Navy Officer from 1963 who is deployed internationally and boards a Pan Am flight home to visit his family. He will run into Laura and a brief romantic exchange. According to the actor, because of his race, things will get complicated considering what year it is.
“…it being 1963 and with all the racial divides in the country, things get very complicated very quickly. It was great to play a character that dealt with real issues, real history,” he said.
