Eye problems may force former Bellator champion Joe Soto into retirement

Former Bellator featherweight champion Joe Soto’s career is in jepoardy due to a serious eye injury, according to his manager Tom Call when speak to MMA Junkie. Soto lost his title earlier this month at Bellator 27, where he was knocked out by Joe Warren. After the fight he complained about vision problems and after being checked by doctors and on Wednesday it was discovered that he had detached retina. He has been scheduled to undergo surgery but its likely he’ll need repeated visits to the surgeons’ table, with Call explaining that “The kind of surgery he’s having could cause some other problems like cataracts and things of that nature that have to be corrected…They can’t all be done at the same time”.
