It makes perfect sense that these two should fight but Anthony “Rumble” Johnson will be taking on Charlie Brenneman at UFC Live 6. The card is set for October although no date or location have been announced. There’s much more to this story than the booking though; after last month’s UFC Live 4, there’s a “six degrees of separation” angle at play.
Johnson was supposed to face Nate Marquardt last month before “Rumble” was injured and had to withdraw from the fight. He was replaced by hot prospect Rick Story, but that match was almost scrapped after Marquardt was suspended due to elevated testosterone levels.
In stepped Brenneman, who upset Story, and the rest is history.
