“Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse and Aquaman”
Welcome to the column where we talk about the two movies that are being released this month.
Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse and Aquaman. Two movies with leads that have never gotten a movie of their own.
Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse
Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse is an animated 3D CG movie starring Miles Morales, a new Spider-man and the various Spider-men from across the multiverse. It is a Sony film which is something to consider. Now when this movie was first announced, I wasn’t terribly excited. Sony has a very bad track record of giving us so many unwanted movies that we don’t care for. But the first time I saw the trailer, I instantly got hyped.
Spider-verse is loosely adapted from a comic storyline and this movie; so far it has received generally great reviews and various accolades. With all this in mind, I am really happy with how it has turned out and believe this is the type of movie Sony should focus on in the future.

Aquaman
The movie also introduces two classic Aquaman characters, Black manta and the Ocean Master. The DCEU has been praised and ridiculed for its dark universe. In my opinion, nothing is ever dark or light and the key is to find the balance between the both as a good super-hero movie should. So far Aquaman has shown every sign of doing that.
