Konnan, Bret Hart, Dupree Updates

News

Konnan was released from hospital on the 18th August. The high doses of anti-rejection medicine had caused him to start suffering from diabetes, so he also needs insulin shots now. He also contracted mild pneumonia and still needs treatment four times a week so his body won’t reject the new kidney. He still hopes to be back in a managerial role in a couple of months.

Bret Hart commented on the passing of Brian Adams. He said “I can’t get over how many friends of mine are gone. I spoke with Brian last weekend several times and for nearly two hours on Sunday afternoon. He sounded really good. We had one of those long heart-to-heart chats about how close friends we were. He’d stayed over a month at my house in Hawaii and was in excellent spirits. He talked about moving back and opening up a wrestling school. He was the best one for bringing Owen back to me, telling me the long-forgotten ribs they took part in till the wee hours of the night. Both of them were great at disguising their voices doing prank phone calls. He was my best and most reliable friend left in the business. What a damn shame. Two young boys and a great wife.”

Rene Dupree has started working for the Hustle promotion in Japan, billing himself as Rene Bonaparte. If you’re wondering what sort of promotion Hustle is, check out this recent angle from their Nagoya show on the 18th August. Yinling-Sama was scheduled to give birth, having been impregnated by Muta after he sprayed green mist on her crotch. This led to Akebono coming out of a giant egg they had set up on the stage, wearing a diaper, a baby bonnet and a pacifier. They called him Monster Bono. And you thought Mae Young’s pregnancy was weird.
