Peter Annihilates Aguilera, Wants Wladimir Rematch

While all boxing eyes turn to Cowboys Stadium this weekend, Top Rank helped to hype “The Event” by broadcasting a bout with featured heavyweight Sam Peter against Nagy Aguilera, the man who upset Oleg Maskaev with a first round knockout in December.

A former WBC Heavyweight Champion, Peter destroyed Aguilera in just two short rounds. Peter dropped Aguilera in the second round, then proceeded to punish him along the ropes until Referee Laurence Cole stepped in for the stoppage.

Peter weighed in at just under 238 pounds, marking his lowest weight in about a decade. The win puts Peter in line for a shot at Wladimir Klitschko’s IBF title, which Klitschko defends against Eddie Chambers next week on March 20. Both Klitschko and Chambers hold decision wins over Peter.

Peter is now 4-0 since signing with Top Rank.
