According to PWTorch, backstage sources have confirmed that the “nice surprise” mentioned by Dixie Carter for tonight’s TNA Slammiversary PPV is Tommy Dreamer. He is not scheduled for a match tonight but will make his TNA debut on the show to begin a major new angle. Dreamer was released by WWE on 4 January 2010.
Carter clarified earlier speculation about a major announcement on the PPV with this tweet:
To clarify. I will not be making an announcement about how TNA will change forever. You will just see for yourselves in the coming weeks.
However, there is still a nice surprise for tonight’s Slammiversary pay-per-view.
Pope D’Angelo Dinero also might be in attendance at the PPV. He has been off Impact for around two months with a shoulder injury, yet made the following announcement on his Twitter:
“Due to travel complications, Pope has been rerouted to Orlando, Florida. Interesting; Nice lil surprise.”
