Cameo Rundown for The Muppets Features Wide Selection of Actors

Casting News, News

There’s been a lot of news lately about some of the celebrities that will be appearing in supporting roles in The Muppets, the new muppet film from director James Bobin and writer Jason Segel.

Here’s a rundown of some of the names tipped to appear in the film:

  • Eric Stonestreet, John Krasinski and Ed Helms have all been named as possible members of Lady Gaga’s entourage. One would suspect this means Lady Gaga will also be making an appearance herself.
  • Jane Lynch will appear as a prison guard. Her prisoner? None other than Machete himself, Danny Trejo.
  • Jack Black will appear as himself throughout a good portion of the movie.
  • Zach Galifianakis will appear as a hobo named Hobo Joe.
  • Barbara Eden will reprise her classic role of Jeannie from the sitcom I Dream of Jeannie.
  • French Stewart (Third Rock from the Sun) will appear as Gabe Lou, a seller of watches.
  • Kristen Schaal (Flight of the Conchords) will appear as the moderator of an anger management group. Can one presume that the new muppet movie will see Animal finally trying to control his emotions?
  • Donald Glover (Community) and Alan Arkin will also appear in the movie in yet-to-be-named roles.
  • A rumor that Paul Rudd would voice the new character Walter the Muppet has been denied by The Wrap. The other named rumored to voice the part is Michael Cera.
