Fresh Off Of Having Liam Neeson Punch Wolves in The Grey, Joe Carnahan Circling Death Wish Remake

News, Projects

The L.A Times is reporting that, fresh on the heels of winning the weekend’s box office war with The Grey, that Joe Carnahan is now attached to write and direct a new project: Death Wish.

Remade from the Charles Bronson vehicle, based off the novel of the same name, has been stuck in development hell since the original franchise sputtered out after four sequels. Sylvester Stallone was attached to revamp it for a long time and now Carnahan will attempt to bring the franchise back to life.

The Pulse: If there’s a director who can make this gritty enough to match the original, Carnahan is a good choice. With Narc under his resume but a number of underperforming films on his resume, this is something that could give him enough ability to get Killing Pablo under way.

The biggest question now, it seems, is if Carnahan will try and get Liam Neeson to work with him again. Neeson is on a role as an older action hero and this would seem to be another good fit.

What do you think? Is Carnahan a good choice for Death Wish or do you think the franchise ought to remain with Charles Bronson and be left dead? Let us know below.
