Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment wastes little time in dating the Digital HD and home video release of Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s The Revenant. Winner of three Oscars, including Best Actor (Leonardo DiCaprio – finally), Best Director (Iñárritu) and Best Cinematography (Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki), this tale of survival and revenge involves explorer Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) and his quest to track the member of his hunting party that left him for dead (Tom Hardy). Lauded for its incredible photography and DiCaprio’s performance, The Revenant is an immersive visual experience that has garnered more than $300 million worldwide.
The Digital HD release will drop on March 22 and will be followed with 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD releases on April 19, 2016.
The only announced extra for the Blu-ray is “A World Unseen,” a documentary that explores Iñárritu’s vision for the story while taking viewers into its recreation of 19th century America and the parallels that exist in today’s world.
