The 13th season of Grey’s Anatomy premieres tonight and signifies a complete changing of the guard for the hit CTV drama. With Patrick Dempsey and Sandra Oh both leaving the show, the door is open for newer characters to truly make the series their own.
One of the relatively newer stars of the series is Sarah Drew who joined Grey’s Anatomy eight years ago. Over the last few seasons, her character (April Kepner) has undergone massive changes as she has become a character that fans have grown to love.
At CTV’s 2016 upfront presentation, I had the opportunity to chat with Sarah and we discussed a variety of subjects including her character’s story arc and progression. We also chatted about how this season will explore April’s character outside of Jackson’s shadow as she takes on motherhood by herself. We also chatted about the new faces on the series.
