[MISC] DX vs. nWo Rumor, ECW Suspensions & More

In what would be a “dream match” for many 1990s WWF and WCW fans, rumors abound that Scott Hall and Kevin Nash may be brought back to WWE as the New World Order to feud with D-Generation X (Shawn Michaels and Hunter Hearst Helmsley). Hall turns 48 next month but has been telling people he’s in training to make an in-ring comeback either with WWE or TNA, where he was last seen in January 2005 and had been doing things like this gimmick:

According to the Wrestling Observer, Hall and Sean “X-Pac” Waltman plan on pitching WWE on a DX vs. nWo feud – one which has already been talked about within WWE, but with great resistance. While Hall doesn’t want to go on the road full-time, and Waltman is still under contract with MTV’s “Wrestling Society X” (even though he recently appeared at a WWE house show, he can’t appear on WWE TV or PPV without a deal being worked out with WSX), this would be an angle that could really pop a PPV buyrate if WWE booked it right. Original nWo member and 47-year-old Kevin Nash was last seen in TNA, an organization that supposedly has no further plans for him to wrestle, although things have been left open for him to make appearances on TV for the company. His contract was reportedly up the day of his last appearance, but there are conflicting reports on that matter. Either way, his time with TNA is either over or soon coming to a close.

The Pro Wrestling Torch confirms that there are some people within WWE who have very strong opinions on Nash and Hall, and don’t want them to come back. As of now, nothing is planned, but it’s noteworthy to mention it has been discussed.

Nash was last in WWE while feuding with his friend HHH, including a Hell in a Cell match refereed by Mick Foley. Hall was fired by WWE during the latest incarnation of the nWo due to behavior problems most likely resulting from his storied alcohol issues. Waltman hasn’t been with WWE in years, but probably has the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship somewhere in his home. There have been no reports of Hulk Hogan, the other original nWo member in WCW along with Hall and Nash, returning to his “Hollywood” persona for this rumored angle, but as we know, anything is possible in pro wrestling.

Within WWE kayfabe, nWo was disbanded by Vince McMahon on July 15, 2002 upon him re-gaining control of the company from Ric Flair (and after Hogan turned babyface, Hall was fired and Nash was injured multiple times, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion). The latest iteration of nWo in WWE was X-Pac (who has also been a member of DX), Big Show, Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels (currently in DX). Discuss this story here.

Neikirk will continue to wrestle house shows as a singles wrestler.
