DX vs. nWo Rumor… Evolves

News

The Pro Wrestling Torch newsletter is adding fuel to the nWo vs. DX rumors… with a twist.

The latest rumor is that Hulk Hogan has been dropping hints that he’d be interested in going back to the nWo look with the black beard at some point. This of course is leading people to speculate that a Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Shawn Michaels and X-Pac angle is very much in the cards, possibly for Wrestlemania. This would of course mean that DX — originally thought to only be a short-term reunion — will be sticking around for a few more months.

At this point, the only other match that seems solid for Mania is Mick Foley vs. Vince McMahon, and the plan seems to be to keep the McMahons as a focal point of RAW for the foreseeable future.

Of course, no serious talks have taken place with Hall, Nash or Sean Waltman (X-Pac), as Hall is still working his way back into shape, Nash is negotiating with TNA and Waltman is under contract with MTV’s Wrestling Society X. Of course, with TNA management not happy with Nash for not jobbing to Chris Sabin before his contract was up, and WWE interested in bringing in Waltman (he’s already shown up at a Florida house show to see how the crowd reacted to him as part of DX with HHH and HBK, and he almost did the same at another event), anything is possible.

So here’s the twist: Batista’s been unhappy on Smackdown, and the rumor being floated by the Torch is a reformation of Evolution, with Batista, Randy Orton and Ric Flair (who prefers being a heel) feuding with DX until the nWo comes back. This is getting interesting, even if it is just fantasy booking in the IWC and the dirtsheets…
