Kurt Angle Rumor-Killer

News, Press Releases

It has been going around the Internet that Kurt Angle will be making an appearance for California-based Ground Zero Wrestling at their October 13 show, but that is NOT the case. The following was posted in the promotion’s official forums:

For Immediate release.

In a correction to an earlier announcement made by a former GZW staff member, Kurt Angle HAS NOT signed with GZW in any way, shape or form. And has NOT committed to any dates with Ground Zero Wrestling at this time.

While GZW is CURRENTLY in preliminary talks with Total Nonstop Action, LLC. to bring Kurt Angle to the fans of Northern California, nothing has been sealed and confirmed, and there will be no “special” announcement on Oct 13th. We do apologize to TNA, and our fans for any misunderstanding, inconvenience and confusion that this may have caused, and will continue to update you on the status of our dealings with TNA in regard to this matter.

Again, GZW WILL NOT have any special announcement regarding Kurt Angle — he is not booked, nor was he ever booked for Oct 13th.

However “The Canadian Destroyer” Petey Williams IS confirmed for the 13th, and we are the FIRST COMPANY IN NOR CAL TO BRING HIM TO YOU. Also in action will be “The PG-13 Superstar” Joey Ryan, “Rock Legend Scum” Adam Thornstowe, The Cartel, The Honor Society, and the best wrestlers on the West coast. Witness history as we crown our first ever GZW champion live from the Carver Hall in Modesto CA. Tickets are on sale now at www.GZWwrestling.com!

From what’s been made public, Kurt Angle’s first appearances since leaving WWE are expected to be in the lead-up to TNA’s October 22 Bound For Glory PPV, including at the October 9 TV tapings, in the pre-PPV fan fest and as special enforcer in the Jarrett vs. Sting, title vs. career main event. Also, today PWInsider reported that Kurt Angle is indeed scheduled to appear at the November 25 TNA live event in Monterrey, Mexico, and that indies that are interested in him are going through TNA’s office.
