Smackdown was taped following the RAW tapings last night in Los Angeles, CA, at The Staples Center. Here are the SD spoilers according to Tom Afflec and PWInsider as well as Bruce Yang and WrestlingObserver.com:
*Before RAW taped, Chris Benoit beat Sylvan in a dark match.
*Kane beat MVP after the new signee called out the Big Red Machine. Finish was DQ after a low blow.
*King Booker was backstage taping up his hands.
*Elijah Burke defeated Vito after Sylvester Terkay interfered, kicking Vito in the head.
*William Regal said he wasn’t going to be Smackdown’s whipping boy anymore.
*David Taylor made his debut in a tag match with Regal, beating Scotty 2 Hotty & Funaki. Taylor pinned Scotty after a double underhook suplex.
*Chavo Guerrero defeated Rey Mysterio in a Loser Leaves Smackdown I Quit Match, that saw a finish of Rey hanging upside down from a steel beam up the stage, and Chavo repeatedly hitting him in the knee with a steel chair.
*Backstage, Matt Hardy and Gregory Helms were arguing, with Helms claiming he can beat anyone. Teddy Long ordered him to wrestle Undertaker, who pinned him with a tombstone despite Kennedy interference.
*Krystal Marshall won a Diva Danceoff, hosted by The Miz with Aaron and Nick Carter as judges. Nick and Aaron got a lot of heat, with The Miz trading “Hoo-rah!” “You Suck!” chants.
*Batista beat King Booker by DQ, with John Cena and The Big Show at ringside scouting the World Heavyweight Champion. Cena and Batista ended up fighting Booker and Show to end the night, with Long saying he was going to try to sign a tag match for next week’s SD main event.
