It was a close race this week between the four major networks. It came down to the final day to decide a winner. This was also the first week of reruns for most of the top shows on TV this week. So reruns and baseball shook things up and made it a competitive week. Who would end up taking this week and would FOX’s baseball coverage be worth it in the end? Lets find out now!
The final baseball games for FOX aired this week and it was the World Series. Now the series was good enough to make FOX competitive with ABC, CBS, and NBC. But as a World Series, it was the lowest-rated one EVER! No major markets were represented in this World Series, so that is to be expected. It just proves that FOX didn’t get their money’s worth. Yes, they won a couple of nights this week, which they wouldn’t do with their regular programming, but it didn’t do much to help them win the week or in the overall picture. Oh well, maybe next year they can rig the game so it’s the Chicago Cubs vs. the New York Yankees.
FOX did affect the race for first place and every other network. They took ratings away from the other networks and it really made it a more competitive week. So I will give them that. But in the end, FOX just couldn’t compete with ABC and CBS. Here is how the week went down!

So ABC is back on the winning track as they beat CBS by a single point. FOX’s baseball coverage led them to third place, but is third place really worth it? I don’t think so. But they did gain a few more points on NBC for third overall. Still, they are FAR behind and wishing that 2007 gets here soon!
You’ll also notice that some of the major shows like Grey’s Anatomy are absent from the top shows this week. There is a reason for that and it’s called RERUNS. Most of the top shows were in reruns for the first time. Right before November “sweeps” time. So as a result, Dancing with the Stars took over the top spot this week for their fellow ABC show. You’ll see more sports in the top 10 as well this week. CBS was helped by late-ending Sunday night football games. FOX had World Series baseball. And NBC was helped by a Dallas Cowboys/Carolina Panthers Sunday night football game. So sports and reruns helped ABC squeak out a win this week. They regain the overall crown, until next week!
