JR’s Blog: Monty Brown, Sting, Terkay & More

News

Jim Ross has posted some new email responses on his blog. Some excerpts from this post:

I met Monty Brown Monday night in Chicago. He seemed like a nice young man and is very athletic. Whether he signs with the WWE, I would recommend it, or not is Monty and the WWE’s call.

Sting is a class act and a wonderful human being. I am sure he will make a great champion. There is still plenty of fuel left in his tank from what I hear.

Sylvest Terkay has obviously all the physical tools he needs to be a great star. The question remains if Terkay has the desire in his heart to be the absolute best in his field. I have seen lots of guys who have the body but not the commitment to be superstars. I hope Terkay doesn’t fall in that category at the end of the day.

There are several good prospects in the WWE developmental system but most, from what I am told, are 6-12 months away from being called up. Obviously that could change. There is no long line of “blue Chippers” out there though and that is a concern of mine.

And freom this one:

Injuries and, again, a lack of quality depth will not allow the aggression today that the old ECW featured. If every match is a hardcore match, then very soon that particular style of match loses it uniqueness and becomes “normal” viewing. The human body will not hold up to the demands for bigger and more dangerous maneuvers as the beloved and classy “Holy S***” moment.
