TNA Update on Goldberg, MLB Tie-In, Trademark Issue & More

News

– TNA did an interview with World Series MVP David Eckstein and Jim Cornette that will air on the prime time special November 16.

– TNA ran commercials for Kurt Angle’s November 16 in-ring TNA debut in major markets during Monday’s RAW. They can get away with this by buying local ad time from the cable systems, instead of going through USA Network.

– Kurt will be on Bubba the Love Sponge’s Sirius show today at 5pm ET, as he is now a special guest each Thursday on the show.

– Bill Goldberg is hosting a rally race series on Spike, airing this spring, called Bullrun. As previously reported, TNA has negotiated to bring him in, and the Spike connection helps, but things have stalled there.

– The second part of Scott D’Amore’s Joe/Angle feature is up, and a good read, here.

– Also on TNA’s Web site, Runt has posted a commentary.

– Scott Levy reportedly filed a “Notice of Opposition” on 10/23/2006 regarding his long-time wrestling name “RAVEN.” This is to contest TNA’s trademark registration of the name.

– In his latest interview and syndicated column, Alex Marvez talked to Robert Roode, who talks about being trained by Sean Morley (Val Venis), Team Canada and more. One interesting quote on his new character: “This character was developed by the former book committee and taken on by the new one. Vince Russo has some great ideas. Maybe it will turn out a little different than what I expected before. But when this first started, it was not actually completely thought through where it would end up. Traci is the one who’s been with me from the beginning. But as far as the other managers, I was kind of confused at the time, too, where we were going with all this. But with the new committee and Vince, he has a good look on where he wants this to go. It’s so early for me right now that I’m just kind of curious myself to see where this ends up.”
