Universal seems to finally be on track to remaking The Wolf Man. While it’s been talked about for quite some time now, the project never seemed to get off the ground. However, things seem to finally be getting under way with Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) now on board to direct the remake based on the Lon Chaney Jr. classic. The film is still being written by Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en) with Benicio Del Toro still attached for the lead role.

So long as they keep Stephen Sommers as far away from this film as humanly possible and Universal doesn’t try to continue with their new extreme re-envisioning of their classic horror monsters, this could very well be one of the films to keep an eye on in 2008. Production is expected to get underway some time this fall.

Currently residing in Washington D.C., John Charles Thomas has been writing in the digital space since 2005. While he'd like to boast about the culture and scenery, he tends to be more of a procrastinating creative type with an ambitious recluse side. @NerdLmtd
