In 1940, Disney Studios released its musical, and now classic, film Fantasia. Full of different animated scenes set to classical music pieces, it has been billed as one of the greatest animated films of all time. It seems now that Disney would like to take a segment of that film and make it into a live action movie starring Nicolas Cage
In the original film there is a scene entitled “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” starring the one and only Mickey Mouse. Mickey is the assistant for a masterful sorcerer named Yensid (Disney backwards) who puts Mickey in charge of cleaning up the lab. Mickey decides to take it upon himself to try and be a wizard himself by putting on Yensid’s hat which leads to all sorts of turmoil and trouble.
The story now would entail the Yensid (played by Cage) as a sorcerer who heads to New York in order to find an apprentice worthy of working under him.
