Brock Lesnar MMA Update

News

According to Dave Meltzer at the Wrestling Observer newsletter (click here for subscription information), K-1 is looking to run a HERO*S pay-per-view from the U.S., headlined by Brock Lesnar vs. Choi-Hong-man. The event would take place in Las Vegas on May 19. Of course, this is still tentative.

The idea around this fight is to build Lesnar — former NCAA, WWE Undisputed and IWGP World Heavyweight Champion — as a giant-slayer, but Hong-man’s Ssirum training in South Korea will theoretically make it difficult for Lesnar to get the big man onto his back.

Lesnar hasn’t competed in a shoot fight since his amateur wrestling days back in 2000, and Hong-man is an accomplished kickboxer with only one MMA fight, a 16-second win in December over comedian Bobby Ologun, so this should be a spectacle.
