Notes from John Cena on Late Late Show

News

John Cena was a guest on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson Thursday night/Friday morning. Some highlights:

– They discussed the Marine DVD, showing a clip from the movie.
– When asked how he got into bodybuilding, Cena said he used to get picked on all the time, so he decided he’d just get bigger than everyone else and pick on them.
– Craig asked what the difference between wrestling and moviemaking is, and Cena noted the live crowd gives you a lot of energy to feed off of, while a movie studio is very quiet.
– Craig asked Cena if he’s ever performed in front of real Marines, and Cena brought up Tribute to the Troops, mentioning that WWE’s gone to Iraq or Afghanistan for the past four years to spend time with the soldiers.
– Craig thanked Cena for beating up K-Fed, and they showed a clip of Federline taking the F-U.
– When asked if he’s called Britney yet, Cena said he tried “in a stalkerish way,” so he doesn’t expect to hear from her.
– Craig asked him if other movies are on the horizon, and he said maybe this summer, but right now it’s all about Wrestlemania on April 1 at Ford Field in Detroit.
– Asked about Donald Trump, Cena explained that the two self-proclaimed “world’s greatest billionaires” will each choose a wrestler to fight on their behalf, with the loser getting his head shaved (and of course, this led to toupe jokes).

Overall, Cena came across funny and humble, and he played off of Craig and the crowd very well.
