Last week Scott Newman reported on how the fight card was shaping up. And unforunately there have been some changes since then.
We still have the two televised lightweight fights between Joe Stevenson and Melvin Guillard, and Kenny Florian and Dokonjonosuke Mishima, but acording to both Sportsline and Sherdog, Frank Mir has pulled out of his fight with Antoni Hardonk due to a shoulder injury. In his place is Team Punishment member Justin McCully, a 7-3-2 fighter who has fought only twice since 2003, with both fights being submission victories last October.
Also pulling out of their matches are Anthony Torres and Jeff Joslin. No replacements for them in the fights against Roan Carneiro and Kuniyoshi Hironaka, respectively, have been announced. Although with both fighters being welterweights, it’s entirely possible that they could end up fighting each other.
On the plus side, it is confirmed that Steh Petruzelli (from TUF 2) will be facing Wilson Gouveia.
So as it currenty stands, here is your card for UFC Fight Night 9:
