It’s been known for quite some time that new special editons of both Big and That Thing You Do were in the works, but 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has been mute on what to expect.
Well, they have finally let the cat out the bag.
Big: Extended Edition, due on May 8th, arrives with a 25 min. longer cut presented in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1. Extras will include an audio documentary by Gary Ross and Anne Spielberg using archival audio material of the original creation of the script, eight deleted and extended scenes with optional introductions by director Penny Marshall, “Backstory: Big,” “Carnival Party Newswrap,” “Big Beginnings,” “The Work of Play” and “Chemistry of a Classic” featurettes, TV spots and trailers.
That Thing You Do: Tom Hanks’ Extended Cut is now 39 minutes longer! and will be presented in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1. Extras will include “Making That Thing You Do,” “The Story of The Wonders,” “That Thing You Do Reunion,” “The Wonders: Big in Japan,” “”The Making of That Thing You Do” and “That Thing You Do Title Song Submissions” featurettes, TV spots and trailers. Retail is $19.98 each.
