Even though virtually every film the Disney owned studio Pixar puts out is aimed at every age group from young children to adults; it seems they are going even older this time around.

Pixar’s release in 2009 will be a film entitled Up that is about a seventy year old man who teams up with a wilderness ranger to show he’s still got some fight left in him. Together they will battle horrible beasts and villains.

No newcomer to Pixar, Bob Peterson will write the script and co-direct along with director of Monsters Inc., Pete Docter.

This announcement locks up the schedule of Pixar releases through the next few years with Ratatouille in two weeks, Wall*E in 2008, and Toy Story 3 in 2010.

Pixar’s sister studio, Disney Animation Studios is also busy as it will release American Dog next year and then Frog Princess, its first hand-drawn animated film since 2004.
