Rasslin Roundtable: TNA Final Resolution

Features, Roundtables

TNA World Heavyweight title
Kurt Angle © vs. Christian Cage

Paul Marshall: Keep Russo out of this and the match will be guaranteed a **** match. However this is TNA and “We are ‘a copycat of WWE/WCW'”. The only thing I would bet for is that AJ Styles comes in and beats up both men, signifying that he’s on his own…and skyrocket himself up in the title picture. Yup…that’s what I’m going to predict.
Winner – Double DQ (Angle Retains via default)

Mark Allen: Kurt seems to really become the centerpiece of TNA. It’s nice to have their main prize have some stability so I’ll go with an Angle retention. He’s already got built in problems Booker T lined up for the next feud.
Winner – Angle

Danny Cox: I might have cared about this match when it was in WWE. Now? Not so much!
Winner and Still Champ: Kurt Angle

Matthew Michaels: While I’d love to see Christian as champ again, I just don’t think they’re going that way. If the goal is to ever, eventually, put the belt on Joe, then Kurt needs to be the one to drop it to him.
Winner – Kurt Angle

David Brashear: What? Christian win the belt and end the Kurt Angle show?
Winner – Kurt Angle

TNA World Tag Team titles
AJ Styles & Tomko © vs. Samoa Joe & Kevin Nash

Mark Allen: I smell a Vince Russo rat. Wacky-tag-partners-who-hate-each other will rise again.
Winner – Nash and Joe

Danny Cox: Don’t give him the World Title. Ummm give him the X-Title even though he really isn’t in the division anymore. How about the tag titles? Yeah, that’s good. Now let’s see how we can get the Women’s title on him. The build-up for Joe to become heavyweight champ is PHENOMENAL (eye roll)! Besides…I hear Tomko is injured or something.
Winner and New Champs: The Samoan-Pac

Matthew Michaels: About that Joe championship? Yeah, this is where he’ll get it. Styles & Tomko are too good together, but JJ/Russo/Mantell can’t resist another feuding tag team. Oh and I can’t wait for it to be revealed that Nash set Joe up at the Gauntlet, and is the newest member of Team Christian. Scratch that; I’ve decided to change this one. Tomko and Styles retain AS we find out that Nash is the latest part of Christian’s attempt to keep his Coalition together. We’ll get Joe vs. Nash in February.
Winners – Joe and Nash AJ & Tomko

David Brashear: With Tomko reportedly injured, there’s no better time to move the belts off him and AJ.
Winners – Joe/Nash

Paul Marshall: This should read Samoa Joe v. AJ Styles & Tomko because everyone knows that Kevin Nash is one botched move away from retirement. With the deal that Tomko is on his own, I wouldn’t mind them transitioning the titles to Joe and Nash. It keeps Joe happy for now.
Winners – The Outsiders 2k8 (Kevin Nash & Samoa Joe) (New Champions)

Mixed Tag match
Booker T & Sharmell vs. Robert Roode & Ms. Brooks

Danny Cox: Booker is better as a heel and Sharmell is a beast. Still…
Winners: Booker the Sharmin

Matthew Michaels: Eh, give it to the babyfaces. Roode needs to be elevated here, but it’s not happening.
Winners – Booker & Sharmell

David Brashear: Roode loses (because of Traci) and yells at her some more. This might also be the night that Roode picks up his fan and she gets to manage him (and feud with Traci).
Winners – Booker T & Sharmell

Paul Marshall: The match was perfect with it only involving Booker T and Robert Roode, but with the addition of the ladies, the attention isn’t there anymore. As with nearly every feud Robert Roode’s been involved with…this one isn’t over. Here’s guessing that Sharmell pins Ms. Brooks due to miscommunication between her and Roode.
Winners – Booker T & Sharmell

Mark Allen: Booker won’t lose this early in his TNA career and will just continue the never ending problems between Roode and Brooks.
Winner – Booker & Sharmell

Ultimate X match
Black Machismo & the Motor City Machine Guns vs. Team 3D & Johnny DeVine

Matthew Michaels: The X Divisioners needs to get a big win here; let’s see if it happens. Flipping a coin….
Winners – Lethal/Shelley/Sabin

David Brashear: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The Dudleys are way beyond stale at this point and need to disappear for a while. That said…
Winners – Machismo & the Guns

Paul Marshall: So is the X Division Title on the line, or is Jay Lethal still the champ without the title? Hell, if Team 3D and Devine win, then Devine should be the champion since he can run with the title and make things interesting in the X Division. However it’s Ultimate X and it involves the Machine Guns, so…
Winners – Jay Lethal & The Motor City Machine Guns

Mark Allen: Let’s see, we’ve had ladder, pole and lumberjack matches between these guys and a teased tables match. Logic would say this would be the final blow off between them, but I think Russo’s got one more month left in him at least between these guys.
Winner – 3-D & Devine

Danny Cox: Hate the Dudleyz! Hate them! Johnny Devine is useless. I’d give anything to see Bubba Ray’s giant ass take a backbody drop off the top of the Ultimate X set. Jay Lethal and MCMG are the best things in TNA period!
Winners: Black Savage & MCMG

TNA Women’s title
No DQ
Gail Kim © vs. Awesome Kong

David Brashear: And here’s a feud that still has some legs left in it. Kong takes the title and we’ll have Gail chase it for a while.
Winner – Kong

Paul Marshall: ODB is the top Knockout contender after the Gauntlet of Rankings on the last episode of Impact. Rumor says that they are making her a babyface, therefore she’ll need a heel champion to face. Gail Kim’s not turning…so there’s one other solution and it isn’t pretty.
Winner – Awesome Kong (New Champion)

Mark Allen: This past week they poised ODB as the next challenger. Even though she’s technically a heel now, she’ll be face in time to face Kong next month.
Winner – Kong (new Champion)

Danny Cox: Guess Kim has held the belt long enou…no wait! Kong would destroy Kim, so making this a no DQ means shenanigans!
Winner and Still Champ: Gail Kim

Matthew Michaels: I think it’s time to put the belt on the monster, and let Kim chase for a while.
Winner – Awesome Kong

Kaz vs. Black Reign

Paul Marshall: This feud started with a rat in a bag over Kaz’s head. I’ve seen worse starts of a feud. Spilled coffee anyone?
Winner – Kaz

Mark Allen: I like Dustin Rhodes as much as the next guy but this thing isn’t working. If they’re serious about Kaz then this is just another step in his road.
Winner – Kaz

Danny Cox: Don’t care!
Winner: Kaz

Matthew Michaels: Man, I don’t care. But they seem to be pushing Frankie…
Winner – Kaz

David Brashear: Why is Black Reign still around? Next thing I know, you’ll be telling me that the Voodoo Kin Mafia are still employed! What’s that? Well, this is awkward…
Winner – Kaz

Abyss vs. Judas Mesias

Mark Allen: Abyss & James Mitchell have been feuding for over a year now, and they said that Russo couldn’t book long-term, ha. I really don’t care about the punchline of the story between these guys. I did like the theory I read that would put Mesias and Abyss as brothers while Mitchell is their actual real father. That would really seem like a Russo thing to do. As for the match result, it’s a coin flip.
Winner – Mesias

Danny Cox: Don’t care even more!
Winner: Judas Mesias

Matthew Michaels: In order to actually be a THREAT, Mesias has to go over here, and strong. I’m hoping for a squash.
Winner – Judas Mesias

David Brashear: I’m betting that the unstoppable monster Abyss gets stopped. AGAIN.
Winner – Judas Mesias

Paul Marshall: The major shock to this match is that there’s no stipulations involved. Russo’s booking this, so expect an extended feud with them.
Winner – Judas Mesias

LAX vs. the Rock ‘N Rave Infection

Danny Cox: Good Lord really! My how LAX has fallen!
Winners: LAX

Matthew Michaels: Does it really matter? All these good tag teams on TNA, and mix-and-match champions whose storylines transcend the belts. Just wonderful. THAT SAID, since I’m predicting Joe and Nash to take the belts — actually, you know what? I’m going back and changing that prediction. Hold on. Okay, I’m back… and let’s keep the belts on AJ & Tomko; and put LAX back into title contention, shall we?
Winners – Homicide & Hernandez

David Brashear: Please let LAX get a win here so we can start seeing them as serious threats again.
Winners – LAX

Paul Marshall: This match is happening because Christy Hemme got punked by a member of the Latino Nation some time ago. They moan and groan because of the policy that “violence against women will not be tolerated in TNA”. That’s why we have Team 3D picking on the X Division. Oh the match? The one member of the Latino Nation attacks Christy again and that person is revealed to be a female. Either way…
Winners – LAX

Mark Allen: Apparently they will also reveal who LAX’s mystery member will be.
*SPOILER* it’s Shelly Martinez *SPOILER*
That will only mean this story will go on. The Rock & Rave will win by DQ because this feud must continue.
Winner – Hoyt & Rave

AJ Styles makes his choice between Kurt Angle and Christian Cage

Matthew Michaels: This one’s obvious.
Winner – Christian. No, Kurt. Wait… uh, who cares? FINE. Christian.

David Brashear: Christian and AJ make a great team as AJ plays the goofy sidekick. Angle’s already got a goofy sidekick in Jeremy Borash, so therefore…
Winner – Christian Cage

Paul Marshall: That was promised two weeks ago. I fully expect AJ to grow a set and tell both Cage and Angle to f*** off.
Result – AJ flies solo

Mark Allen: Russo-nomics say Angle and Cage join forces and leave Styles out on the cold. Styles will then go face. Why? Because it’s a SWERVE, baby!
Result – AJ goes his own way
