Samoa Joe Contract Update

News

According to Jason Powell’s new Prowrestling.net, Samoa Joe’s three-year TNA contract expires in June, as he rejected the renewal offer proposed to him earlier this year. While it’s possible that he has quietly agreed to a new deal, if you haven’t noticed, his current storyline has been that he wants a big contract, yet he keeps refusing to sign it. Personally, that wouldn’t mean a thing to me, but then again, TNA’s the company that just wrote Chris Harris’ unhappiness into the show for weeks on end before the former tag champ left TNA for WWE, so…

Powell goes on to say that “a friend of Joe’s” has speculated that Joe would go to WWE if the contract and gimmick were right. Regardless, Powell reports that there is still talk of making Joe TNA champ.

I’d like to take a moment to congratulate Jason on the launch of his new site. One of my favorite wrestling writers, he hasn’t really been a part of the IWC for the past few years, and it’s great to have him back. We wish him the best of luck.
