Former Gilmore Girls Star, Lauren Graham, To Star in New ABC Pilot

News

Lauren Graham is one step closer to returning to television.

ABC has given the green light to a comedy pilot starring the Gilmore Girls actress. The single-camera show, called Let It Go, is one of two comedies the network ordered on Thursday. The other is a buddy comedy called The New Twenty, the showbiz trades report.

Let It Go will star Graham as a self-help expert who has built a career by helping women to shrug off stress and other bad things. She’s unable to follow her own advice, however, when a man breaks up with her and sends her into a downward spiral.

The project will be the first TV series for Graham since Gilmore Girls ended two seasons ago. She’s currently prepping for a Broadway run in Guys and Dolls, which starts previews next week, so filming of the pilot may have to work around her theater schedule.

Former Will & Grace writer Alex Herschlag created Let It Go and will executive produce with Kim and Eric Tannenbaum and Mitch Hurwitz.

The New Twenty comes from Scrubs writer Tad Quill. It’s about two friends in their 40s who are facing two very different family situations — one just had a baby, while the other is sending a kid to college.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
