Ric Flair News Round Up

News

Before he comes back to RAW next week, check out some other Nature Boy related stories you may have missed, including news on the fate of a Hogan/Flair team up.

Slam Wrestling’s Jason Clevett has details on Ric Flair’s upcoming “An Evening With Ric Flair” (modeled after “An Evening With Kevin Smith”). Clevett interviewed the show’s promoter/creator, Kevin Radomski.

Among other things, Radomski talks about the challenges he faced in his transition from rock show promoter to Ric Flair personal appearance promoter, as well as Flair’s asking price for the show:

“The biggest challenge I have seen so far is the education. I hang up a poster and have actually heard women say, ‘Why is that guy wearing a bath robe?’ You take for granted that even being a quasi-wrestling fan, everyone knows who Ric Flair is.

A rock band is more concerned about how much beer they get before, after and during the show. Ric Flair couldn’t really care less about the drink. When he promotes himself as a ‘limousine riding, lear jet flying son of a gun’ that is exactly what he is. It is not fake or a face. He flies first class everywhere he goes, his hotel room has to be a suite.”

“It is substantially more then that [$10,000]. If it was $10,000 I would be clicking my heels right now, it would be a bargain,” he said, adding that it was worth the large financial risk.

In further Flair personal appearance news, PWI’s Mike Johnson has passed on word that Highspots (the producers of Flair’s shoot video) is now a licensed booking agent for Flair.

Finally, in “Ric Flair’s offspring” news, Mike Johnson is also reporting that Reid Flair will not be appearing with Brooke Hogan at the Florida State Fair due to an injury he suffered while training.
