No Doubt To Guest Star on Gossip Girl

News

Attention, Upper East Siders. No Doubt will be taking a detour during the early days of their tour to visit Manhattan’s elite.

The ska-pop band announced on their website Thursday (Feb. 26) that they’ll perform on the May 11th episode of Gossip Girl. For the special CW engagement, they will perform Adam and the Ants’ “Stand and Deliver” for the first time ever.

Those who may think it’s a curious pairing haven’t been paying attention. The show makes a habit of featuring incongruous musical elements such as having the Constance Billard girls’ choir singing Fergie’s “Glamorous” or having The Section Quartet’s cover of Muse’s “Time Is Running Out” playing in the background as Serena and Blair exchange catty words.

No Doubt will be the biggest musical name to grace Gossip Girl, although Lisa Loeb and Cyndi Lauper have visited in the past.

The band’s appearance will coincide with their reunion tour, which runs from May 3 in New Jersey to Aug. 1 in California.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
