Heyman And Cabana Talk Anti-Semitism In Wrestling

Slam Wrestling’s Ranjan Chhibber, Ph.D, talks with Paul Heyman and Scotty “Colt Cabana” Goldman about dealing with anti-semitism in the wrestling business.

Heyman, who gave his interview at the U.N. during the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, talked about dealing with anti-semitism from Bill Watts and confronting Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn about a line Jerry Lawler used on Raw that he considered offensive.

Cabana, in his first post WWE interview, talked about a moment in OVW when a trainer called him “Kike” Cabana. He also talked about the influence Heyman’s ECW run had on his decision to enter the business:

“Paul E.’s success helped me prove the point to my family that another Jew had succeeded in the world of wrestling, and that I didn’t have to become a doctor or lawyer like everyone else [in our Jewish social circle].”
