News on Upcoming WWE PPVs

News

It looks like most of the scheduled WWE pay-per-views will (wisely) have a gimmick attached.

Here is a list of the next eight events, according to WWE.com, with my commentary in parentheses:

8/23/09 – SummerSlam (like WrestleMania, the name is the gimmick)

9/13/09 – Breaking Point (submission matches)

10/4/09 – Hell in a Cell (at least one HiaC match)

10/25/09 – Bragging Rights (formerly Cyber Sunday, this PPV will allow fans to “have your say online” according to WWEkids.com (hat tip to F4Wonline.com))

11/22/09 – Survivor Series (elimination matches)

12/13/09 – Armageddon (no gimmicks announced thus far)

1/24/10 – Royal Rumble (speaks for itself)

2/21/10 – No Way Out (recently has included elimination chamber matches)

As you can see, unless plans change, the only PPV without a natural gimmick is Armageddon. Personally, I think it’s a great idea to add these stipulation matches, etc., to PPVs to make them “special” and give fans another reason to get excited about them. What do you think would be a good gimmick for that PPV? Vote in our poll to the right and/or comment below!
