John C. Reilly Heading to Cedar Rapids

Casting News, News

John C. Reilly and Ed Helms are teaming up and going to Cedar Rapids, a road-trip comedy directed by Miguel Arteta.

In Rapids, written by Phil Johnston, a wholesome and naive small-town Wisconsin man (Helms) must represent his company at a regional insurance conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, when his role model suddenly dies. There his mind is blown by the big-town experience.

Reilly’s character, also attending the conference, is a family man who sees the event as a vacation and a time to let loose.

Some might remember Arteta from his second film, the controversial Chuck & Buck. His next film, Youth In Revolt, stars Michael Cera. Despite some early positive reviews, the movie has been pushed back from it’s original October release and will now open in the middle of winter: January 15, 2010.
