Yesterday, we told you that Apparition snatched up the distribution rights to Floria Sigismondi’s biopic about the all-girl rock ‘n roll band from the ’70s, The Runaways. Now today we have a short teaser of the film. Not much is gleaned from this trailer, except maybe that Dakota Fanning isn’t the little girl we all remember from I Am Sam or Uptown Girls. One can hope that the film is packed with great music from the ’70s. It’ll make its premiere at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
In 1970s, tough LA teen Joan Jett (Kristen Stewart) joins up with an eccentric producer to form the all-girl band The Runaways – the band that would launch her career before she made rock ‘n roll history.
The Runaways opens in theaters beginning March 19, 2010.
