Most people remember Jonny Fairplay for the dead grandmother lie, but that is not why he is on this list. He is here because strategically he played one of the best games of all-time. Despite seeming so unlikeable, most of his Pearl Islands liked him. Although he wasn’t the strongest player, he managed to be fully conscious of his physical limitations and addressed them immediately by aligning with the newly-returning Burton and the pair basically dominated the game using Burton strength and Fairplay’s brilliance. When Fairplay needed extra votes to eliminate Rupert, he managed to convince Tijuana and Darrah that making a one-off deal was a good idea to save themselves. If not for Lill being one of the worst players of all-time, Fairplay would have been sitting beside Sandra in the finals and the result would have been much closer.
