Ernie Harwell passed away Tuesday night from complications related to cancer. Harwell had announced last September that he had inoperable cancer of the bile duct.
Harwell handled Detroit Tigers radio duties from 1960-1991 and 1993-2002. Harwell also announced for the Giants, Dodgers, and Orioles.
The Tigers will hose a memorial for Harwell at Comerica Park Thursday from 7 am until the last person who wants to see Harwell see’s him.
