The fans have voted and the TNA Executive Committee has made their decision, and the inaugural Top 10 Contender’s Rankings are now revealed!
On Thursday Night iMPACT! Eric Bischoff formerly announced the first 10 TNA Heavyweights to make the list. Bischoff and the Committee have made their decision and Sting topped the list as the #1 Contender for the TNA Heavyweight Crown.
If you tuned in, you saw, it didn’t go down quite as easy as one would have expected.
It all started out without a hitch. One by one, the contenders came out to meet the fans as their respective numbers were called. Then both Bischoff, and TNA fans were caught by surprise when #2 Kurt Angle failed to come out when called.
Angle later revealed his desire to drop his #2 ranking and literally go to the bottom of the TNA talent roster. He vowed to fight one wrestler at a time starting with number 10 and working his way to the top of the Contender’s list, defeating each and every one along the way. He said his commitment was “ real-damn realâ€.
So, with his departure from the list, everyone moved up one position leaving a hole at #10. An impromptu match was held with a cadre of X Division talent with the prize for the last man standing, position #10 on the Top 10 Contender’s Rankings. When the dust settled, Kazarian was declared the winner in an 8-Man X Division Battle Royal.
So now the rankings are set. Hopefully your favorite made the list.
