Devon Alexander will defend his light welterweight title against Andreas Kotelnik on August 7 in Alexander’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. The fight will be broadcast on HBO with an undercard featuring Tavoris Cloud vs Glen Johnson in a light heavyweight fight.
Devon Alexander made his first successful title defense in March against Juan Urango. The undefeated Alexander will be fighting for the first time in his hometown as champion.
Andreas Kotelnik is a former light welterweight champion in his own right and holds a victory over Marcos Maidana. Kotelnik lost his title to Amir Khan in July of 2009.
