According to information at SEATGEEK.COM, the average price for a Washington Nationals game for the first 2 months of the year was around $51 dollars.
Since June 1st when Strasburgh’s debut was announced, tickets for that game have been going for an average of $103.28, more than double what they had been going for.
Strasburg’s rise has also brought the average up for other games that he’s not pitching in as well. For the first half of May, Nationals tickets sold at $42.28 and from May 15th to June 1st they are up to $61.15.
Not only are the tickets going for more money, they’re also much more in demand. Before the announcement the Nats were the 19th most popular team on the resale market, since the announcement they’ve jumped up to the 7th most popular team between the Phillies and the Twins.
