Spider-Man's Brand New Day To End With Amazing Spider-Man #647

News, Top Story

A few weeks ago I reported that Amazing Spider-Man would be cutting down to two issues a month with Dan Slott as the full time writer, but with no time table as to when. But now, Bleedingcoolnews (who had the original story) is giving us a definite number.

Amazing Spider-Man #647, which looks to be an October release, has been cofirmed to be the final issue of the Brand New Day status quo. Not to go out on a whimper, the writing team lined up for the book includes Dan Slott, Bob Gale, Joe Kelly, Mark Waid, Fred Van Lente, and Zeb Wells. The artists? Apparently Marvel is going to do their famous anniversary artist bash and throw in everyone who’s ever done anything Spider-Man….I can not wait to see the master list! The issue is set for 64 pages, and $4.99 price tag.

Origin of Species ends with #646, and as I previously wrote, Marvel has mentioned replacing Peter Parker going forward out of it, which would make #647 something of an epilogue issue for Amazing Spider-Man and the career of Peter Parker.

What will be the end result? Who will be Spider-Man? Will this blogger start buying Spidey again?

All of these questions and more to be answered…..when we have more information!
