Fallout from ‘War of the Green Lanterns’ leads to less Earth-born GLs?

News

Check out the April 2011 DC Green Lantern #65 solicit. The cover has a blacked out character. Could this mean one of the 4 Earth born lanterns switches Corps?

Now, I would have expected a Lantern like Guy Gardner to maybe become the lead on Milligan’s Red Lanterns ongoing book, but I didn’t anticipate one of the Earth born lanterns becoming a Sinestro Corps member (perhaps temporarily to feul… future action figure sales? ;) ). This is purely speculative, but why else black out the cover of the GL #65 unless, maybe, another GL becomes Parallax (temporarily)?

With many DC writers and higher ups talking about the “shocking” impact of ‘War of the Green Lanterns’ or, as the solicit below indicates, something “memorable” happens… with so many Lanterns, do Corps switches make sense?

Anyhow, the GL #65 solicit is below:

GREEN LANTERN #65

Written by GEOFF JOHNS
Art by DOUG MAHNKE and KEITH CHAMPAGNE

Cover by IVAN REIS and OCLAIR ALBERT
1:10 Variant cover by GEORGE PEREZ

The “War of the Green Lanterns” takes a shocking turn! With the entire Green Lantern Corps against them, the four Earthborn GLs make a choice that will rank among the most memorable in GL history. But not all of them agree on what has to be done and what lines are to be crossed. Plus, the countdown to the live-action film continues with another exclusive look at the upcoming GREEN LANTERN movie!
