The gaming series has grown into a billion-dollar franchise since its inception in the late ’80s on the Apple II computer. In the nineties it became a game-changer for football video-gaming as John Madden Football on the two biggest gaming platforms at the time (Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo). Now with its monopoly control of NFL video games, due to its licensing agreement with the National Football League, which killed a number of gaming properties, most notably the NFL 2K series, the series has become one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time.

It is a brand-new year for Madden fans. And while final rosters are incomplete due to the lockout – so no free agency – we do know some of the rankings of this recent NFL draft. While it wasn’t a great class, here are the ten best as rated by EA and Madden NFL ’12.
