Josh Thomson Off “Strikeforce Grand Prix: Barnett vs. Kharitonov” Card

News

Former Strikeforce Lightweight champion Josh Thomson has been forced to pull out of his fight at “Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov” due to an injured foot. He was originally scheduled to face Maximo Blanco.

Thomson has been out of action since his decision loss to Tatsuya Kawajiri at DREAM “Dynamite!! 2010.” He had previously been defeated three months earlier by Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante at “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II.”

The event takes place Sept. 10 at Cincinnati’s U.S. Bank Arena, and Thomson was slated to compete on the Showtime-televised main card.
