Diaz Out / Condit In At UFC 137: The Timeline of Events

News

Per the press conference, a timeline of events is starting to come out as to the events of Nick Diaz’s dismissal and Carlos Condit’s promotion to the main event from a co-main fight with B.J Penn. This is all from the Press Conference, which you could’ve followed here on Inside Fights:

Diaz skipped media day earlier this week as well.

Diaz missed three fights in last 24 hours, costing the UFC $15,000 or so. They haven’t heard from him since.

Dana says he last talked to Nick on Monday night. Says he got “a bunch of jibberish” and was then going on a plane. He’s angry, and legitimately so. “I promoted over 1600 fights. This has never happened”

Dana called Carlos to offer him this fight. Started crying and had to call them back 15 minutes later. Condit flying out to Vegas right now.

Cesar Gracie called in during presser and says, “I agree with you 100%. We’re embarrassed, I’ve been trying to chase Nick around town. No one can find him.” Cesar went to Nick’s house and Nick snuck out the backdoor, per Dana. Dana: “I want you guys to tell me when Nick hasn’t been bizarre. Who in the room is really shocked this is happening right now?”

Nick Diaz’ training partner Jason Manly is claiming Diaz was in a plane crash on his Twitter feed: @EllenbergerMMA @kcbanditmma his plane crashed bro have some respect! He’s safe and back training though…

Per The UFC’s Twitter Feed: Dana – he’d rather pull the fight now than promote a fight and then have to worry about whether Nick would show up the night of the fight

From Dan Hardy’s Twitter Deed: Annoying, a little bit funny and not at all suprising!
