MMA Fighting is reporting that Jon Jones appears to have another fight in him in 2011.
After already having stopped Ryan Bader, Shogun Rua and Quinton Jackson already this year, it appears he’ll be defending his title one more time in 2011. The UFC is targeting UFC 140 for the two to settle a grudge match that split apart his camp: Former champion Rashad Evans.
The fight would headline a fairly top heavy card to begin with, as heavyweights Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira and Frank Mir are already set to tangle on that card alongside Antônio Rogério Nogueira and Tito Ortiz.
If the fight is scheduled, and Jones manages to defeat Evans, it would make a remarkable year and perhaps the greatest for a fighter ever. To defeat four Top 10 opponents in a calendar year would be incredible for Jones, a meteoric rise to the top unseen in the modern era of the sport.
