DC Comics Relaunch: Wonder Woman Has A Dad?

News

I never really thought of it before I read the news, but Wonder Woman has never actually had a father figure. For years her origin was that her mother, Hippolyta, shaped her from magical clay and that is how Diana was born. Her mother made her out of clay on an island of all women. Well, no longer!

In the new 52 continuity, Wonder Woman’s biggest change is that she is the daughter of Hippolyta and Zeus! And then DC’s Source blog says “the king of the gods will ensure that nothing goes as planned for his defiant daughter.”

And those fearing of this marking a reboot of the character…Brian Azzarello told the New York Post that it’s a revelation that she’ll be getting in the third issue of her newly relaunched series, the discovery that her origin isn’t what she thought it was.
