Welcome to the 10 Thoughts on WWE Monday Night Raw brought to you by K-Mart and I, Rhett Davis. Sorry for my leave of absence, but schoolwork comes first and Engineering has been kicking my arsenal as of late. But that’s not important. Let’s get started…
1. Punk is golden on the mic and I love to hear his promos, but he needs a worthy foe. Right now I’d rather see him rant away on Johnny Ace than Alberto del Rio. I do think that ADR is a worthy adversary, but I can’t feel a real connection between Punk and ADR. I don’t see them and think that they are in a heated feud.
2. Holy Toledos, Ryder is over. I mean seriously. The only person who MIGHT be getting a louder ovation than he is CM Punk. And grabbing Ricardo’s mic during del Rio’s introduction was great. Not only did it get him some cheers, but it also enraged Alberto even more. That being said, Alberto had a lot of motive to win the match and Ryder didn’t lose much due to ADR’s determination.
3. In case you didn’t notice during Swagger’s entrance, where the box pops-up to tell you what’s trending, the box temporarily went fuzzy revealing a link in which can be found here. As much as I would love for it to be Chris Jericho, I just have to believe that it’s the return of Taker. Woot.
4. Just keep Kevin Nash at home unless Triple H is back please? That promo did nothing, but make me cringe as if I were watching a play and someone had lost a line. It was ugly and really accomplished nothing.
5. I really like Cody Rhodes, but he needs the mask or at least to tone down the character a bit. It’s awkward to watch him stick his tongue out and then administer that horrific laugh. Although I think a feud with Booker T could aid him a ton. I mean Booker has pretty good chemistry with the Rhodes doesn’t he?
6. I must say I did laugh when I saw Dolph’s trunks with ‘#Heel’ on them. Clever and fitting to the character. I know, I know, I’m probably a few weeks late on noticing them.
7. The CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler match was a very entertaining bout with many twists and turns. Makes me wonder why Dolph isn’t being elevated to the top yet? He has an unique look and a very capable move set. The only thing I can think of is that he doesn’t have the ‘Mason Ryan’ physique. Which shouldn’t matter given his awesome amount of charisma.
8. Everyone seems to think that Kane is returning with the mask, but it looked to me that he was burning it, not wearing it. Perhaps he will be back in the mask. It would be a different scenario than as of late, and could bring his character back to life.
9. Wade Barrett is awesome. I love the smugness, the charisma, the confidence that he exudes. It’s good to see him finally getting that push post Nexus. I just hope that Randy Orton doesn’t bury him before he can shine in the spotlight.
10. Eh. I disliked the ending on so many different levels. It didn’t settle as to where Cena goes from here and then we received one of my least favorite angles now – the tag team split-up. Was it necessary? Absolutely not. Those two were golden together, but, since they didn’t have any really big face adversaries post John/Rock, they were disbanded. Boo. Although Truth as a face, I think will work very well. He already displays decent interactions with the audience with his new persona.
